The University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene has established a two-year strategic partnership with Protelligent, Inc. in an ongoing effort to support high-tech business growth in North Idaho.
Protelligent, founded in 2002, delivers IT and security solutions to small and medium-sized businesses across a broad range of industries. The company will provide program management services for UI’s security operations center, cyber-security training for staff and students and technical support on an as-needed basis.
To facilitate these services and prepare the organization for future growth, Protelligent will be moving from its current inland northwest location in Spokane Valley to a 2,100-square-foot facility at the UI Research Park in Post Falls, home to UI’s Cybersecurity Training and Operations Center.
“Now that we offer a bachelor’s degree in computer science right here in North Idaho, it’s especially important for us to establish close ties to local industry experts like Protelligent,” said Charles Buck, UI’s associate vice president and executive officer of UI Coeur d’Alene. “This partnership is sure to benefit both students and businesses throughout the region by delivering advanced training opportunities to the local workforce.”
“We’re excited about our collaboration with the University of Idaho,” said Christopher George, CEO of Protelligent. “Our cybersecurity expertise, coupled with the university’s reach within the community, will help raise awareness and provide a platform for local businesses to stay ahead of ever-changing requirements and security risks, while giving students hands-on experience in the field.”
UI Coeur d’Alene is currently accepting applications for its four-year bachelor’s program in computer science, offered in partnership with North Idaho College. For more information, visit www.uidaho.edu/cda.
